Three shared points and the finish

The official website only sets the criterion: roughly every 5 km (5, 10, 15 and finish) with water, isotonic drink and fruit, gluten-free products at the finish and zero waste with compostable paper cups. It gives no locations, so I have placed them on the course. The Barcelona Half uses three liquid points (km 5, 10 and 15) with water and isotonic on both sides and a larger one at the end; that scheme is replicated here, but each point serves several races so fewer tables, vans and supplies are needed.

True-scale map (north up). Tap a point to see its name; each table row centres the map on that point and opens it in Google Maps.

A1

Av. de la Pietat × Av. de Gaudí

Half 21K · km 6.210K · km 3.2Walk · km 3.2

Contents: Water + isotonic (compostable paper cups). For the Walk: water refill point with your own cup or bottle.

A single point serves all three races in time slots that barely overlap (21K ≈08:50–09:25 · 10K ≈09:10–09:30 · Walk ≈09:35–10:30). Wide tarmac, away from green areas, next to the Estadi Atlètic (mains water and toilets).

ProposalStadium Point: the Club Atlètic Igualada speaker calling out bib numbers, with a drum band on the straight.

A2

Ronda del Rec (davant la Travessia de Sant Antoni de Baix)

Half 21K · km 11.810K · km 4.9

Contents: Water + isotonic. Tables on both sides of the road to separate the 21K and 10K flows.

It is exactly km 5 of the 10K and sits between km 10 and 12 of the Half. A paved urban street before entering the river path: cups are collected here and never reach the Parc Fluvial.

ProposalRec Point: a cheering tunnel from the neighbourhood schools and live music in front of the old tanneries.

A3

Ctra. de Vilanova del Camí (núm. 42–52, Vilanova)

Half 21K · km 16.010K · km 7.6

Contents: Water + isotonic + fruit (locally sourced orange and banana, cut up). Gels optional only and in bulk.

Right after leaving the Parc Fluvial: no waste inside the Anoia river corridor. A wide road with van access and municipal bins nearby.

ProposalVilanova Point: grallers and giants from Vilanova del Camí; the oranges are handed out by the town’s associations.

Finish

Av. del Mestre Montaner / Av. de Catalunya

Half 21K · km 21.410K · km 10.0Walk · km 6.1

Contents: Water, isotonic, fruit, packaged gluten-free products and a recovery area. Charity botifarrada next to it.

Shared start and finish area. Water in 20 L tanks (no 33 cl bottles) and a recycling point with organic waste (peel and compostable cups), packaging and general waste.

ProposalWinter finish: hot broth and thick hot chocolate to warm up in December.

Rough estimate: 0.2 L of water and 0.15 L of isotonic per pass, 2 cups per runner and point (walkers refill their own cup at A1), 80 g of fruit at A3 and 150 g at the finish. Three volunteers per point, as in the plan.

Our own ideas for this race

Proposals from the organising team, still to be validated. Designed so the aid station is part of the party too.

  1. Bring your cup

Anyone running with their own foldable cup enters the draw for 2027 bibs. Fewer cups, shorter queues.

  2. Cup target

Bins with a bullseye at the end of the drop zone: scoring with your cup is part of the game and leaves the street clean.

  3. Hot broth at the finish

In December a broth beats a cold drink: flasks of broth and hot chocolate next to the fruit.

  4. Cheered by name

The bib shows your name in large print: the volunteers at each table cheer every person by name.

  5. Waste traffic light

The waste from each point is weighed and published with the results. The cleanest point wins the volunteer trophy.

  6. Igualada water

Mobile fountains connected to the mains next to the stadium and at the finish to refill bottles before and after the race.
